Samuel H. Jones Innovation Center

An on-site and virtual innovation community

Located on Route 322 (Mullica Hill Road) near the junction of Rt. 55 in Mantua Township, the Jones Innovation Center provides competitively priced facilities for start-up and established companies that bring innovative technologies to the marketplace, as well serving as a home for technology-focused researchers, inventors, entrepreneurs, professors and students.

The two-story facility has approximately 22,500 square feet devoted to laboratory and office space for academic research and 22,500 square feet available for private tenants, including Rowan’s Technology Business Incubator for startup companies.

Rowan University’s Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering (research facilities) and Rohrer College of Business (business incubator) are anchor tenants. 

 

Tenant resources
On-site and virtual tenants have access to the research, development and commercialization expertise of Rowan University’s engineering, science and business faculty, among others. 

Tenants also have access to the full Rowan Innovations ecosystem, including Garden State Venture Partners, a next-gen venture capital firm built to attract and retain companies in New Jersey, and Plug and Play, who have brought their Silicon Valley platform to Camden and Rowan’s West Campus via NJEDA’s Strategic Innovation Center (SIC).

 

On-site tenants: Private companies

  • Enalare Therapeutics develops novel medicines for life-threatening acute respiratory and critical care conditions, including respiratory depression caused by drug overdose and post-surgical complications.
  • OcuMedic, Inc. develops patented contact lenses that deliver medication directly to the eye over time, helping improve treatment consistency and results. Based in New Jersey, the company focuses on conditions such as post-surgical recovery and dry eye, offering an alternative to frequent eye drops.
  • ReGelTech Inc. is a clinical-stage medical device company developing HYDRAFIL®, a minimally invasive injectable hydrogel implant for patients with chronic low back pain caused by degenerative disc disease. Designed for a simple procedure, the technology restores disc biomechanics while preserving natural spinal motion and reducing the need for surgery.
  • Systems Innovation Engineering delivers solutions to improve affordability and mission readiness for complex defense systems. SIE provides end‑to‑end support across the program lifecycle, specializing in systems design, product support, supplier analytics, and secure software solutions for government and defense partners.
  • Thunderbolt Solutions delivers advanced systems and product line solutions for large-scale defense and commercial programs. Thunderbolt specializes in open-architecture system design, mission-critical software, and end-to-end engineering support for complex platforms, including U.S. Navy combat systems.

Partner research locations

Affiliated Virtual SJTP Tenants at partner locations also have access to the full Rowan Innovations platform. These locations include the National Aviation Research and Technology Park (NARTP), the Joint Health Sciences Center in Camden, and Rowan’s Camden Bank building, with plans to expand to locations in Paulsboro and Vineland.

  • National Aviation Research and Technology Park (NARTP) is a 55‑acre aerospace research and development campus located next to the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center and Atlantic City International Airport. The park works with Rowan University as a founding academic partner on collaborative research, workforce development, and industry partnerships to advance aviation technology and innovation.
  • The Joint Health Sciences Center is a research, education, and innovation hub that brings together academic, clinical, and industry partners to advance science and medicine in the region. Located in Camden, the center supports collaborative research, workforce development, and community-focused health initiatives.
  • Rowan University's Camden Academic Building is an historic 1928 First Camden National Bank & Trust building that offers a modern academic center with classrooms, computer labs, and faculty space in downtown Camden.
